Low clouds over Barga

As our weather expert David Sesto recently pointed out, forecasting the weather conditions in Barga over the last couple of days has been very difficult but what has known is that there is a cold front on the way and the mild weather that we have been having for the last week or so is coming to an end.

All that damp warm air is just about to be moved aside by the cold front coming in but in the meantime what it is meant for the city has been a series of low cloud washing over and through the streets dispersed by brief  shots of near horizontal sunlight occasionally bursting through.

Some dramatic lighting effects which lasted sometimes just for a brief second or two  before merging into something else.

It would seem a bit banal to write  the word “melancholy”  in an attempt to describe some of those fleeting moments but you can decide for yourself by checking out some of the images in the gallery below.

Alla fine le correnti perturbate, con il loro lento erodere il bordo orientale dellalta pressione, sono riuscite nel loro intento: smantellare la campana anticiclonica e prendere possesso del Mediterraneo.

Le prime infiltrazioni umide sono già visibili anche sul nostro territorio con nubi e temperature minime di circa 5-6 gradi più elevate di quelle registrate nella mattina di martedì.

Si apre così un lungo periodo con tempo dinamico e frequentemente instabile, più mite tra oggi e domenica, progressivamente più freddo dal 13 in poi con scenari che, se ancora lasciano non pochi margini di incertezza, stanno dipingendosi sempre più di bianco con neve possibile anche a quote basse.

Sarà più che mai necessario procedere con i piedi di piombo perchè i modelli non riescono bene a “digerire” questa nuova situazione che sul medio- lungo termine, lo ribadiamo, potrebbe avere risvolti nevosi per buona parte d’Italia oltre che d’Europa.

Riportando il nostro sguardo al breve termine dobbiamo aspettarci un mercoledi decisamente uggioso con nubi basse con un progressivo peggioramento delle condizioni meteo sino ad avere deboli piogge tra la sera-notte su giovedì. – David Sesto
