Big changes taking place in Barga Giardino this evening.

Normally for the festa of Santa Maria on the 15th of  August and san Rocco on the 16th -  the music has always been rigorously Liscio  with the older generation leading the way with the dancing in the piazza.

In fact yesterday for Santa Maria there were  thousands filling the streets of Barga Giardino for Giovanna and the Antonio Menza Orchestra and the dancing went on until well past 1 am this morning. (article here)

Today for San Rocco,  all that changed  and overnight became a completely new idea.

Music from the 70s and 80s instead filled the piazza with seminaked men and women dancing on cubes in amongst the dry ice.

We wait to see the reaction of the old guard in the morning.  What will be the verdict?

Was it a bad idea,  a good  idea or even a great idea ?

Time will tell.
